Mission of Burma at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest

From my point of view Mission of Burma in Austin was the highlight of the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin last weekend. Roger Miller (guitar), Clint Conley (bass), Peter Prescott (drums) and Martin Swope (tape manipulator/sound engineer) played an impressive set despite the sub standard accommodations the festival offered on the rainy Sunday night. Apparently the overhead stage lights were left off because of the electrical threat during the downpour.

From a photography stand point, it was both a challenge and interesting to shoot a band with no lighting in the rain. The single side stage light made for some fun back lighting options, and some very high contrast opportunities. These photos are a little on the soft side as I was constantly wiping water off my lens with my muddy t shirt.
