Dean Peer’s video: 1 Speed
Here's a music video I recently produced for bassist Dean Peer from his album Airborne. The track is called 1 Speed, and it has everything you'd want in video: exploding rockets, confused cosmonauts, underwater air guitar and Walter Cronkite eating experimental space food. Dean's new album Airborne is getting a lot of critical reviews (and here) from media in the Hi Fidelity →
Playboy Magazine
You can see one of the Jonathan Richman photos I took in the August issue of Playboy. It part of the piece that features the Continental Club in Austin as one of America's Best Bars. ...who can argue?
Crawdaddy! Magazine
Crawdaddy magazine has a long history - going back to the early 1960's, and they continue to to be relevant today. Just check this article on The Greatful Dead vs the Boredoms ....amazing! Mission of Burma at Fun Fun Fun Fest
From my point of view Mission of Burma was the highlight of the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin last weekend. Roger Miller (guitar), Clint Conley (bass), Peter Prescott (drums) and Martin Swope (tape manipulator/sound engineer) played an impressive set despite the sub standard accommodations the festival offered on the rainy Sunday night. Apparently the overhead stage lights were left →
Noble Dog CD cover
I recently shot the cover photo for Noble Dog’s debut CD. I wanted to capture the Americana/ southern roots feel of the band with the image. The fact that these guys have a marathon gig schedules also lent meaning to the worn out stage theme. The photo was shot at the mean eyed cat on west 5th street in →

PJ Harvey – SXSWorld
The PJ Harvey photos I took on Saturday night 21 March at Stubb’s in a lot of ways were the pay off for week of chaos that was SXSW this year. Typically after a week of sleep deprivation, substance depletion/abuse and strained tolerance for hipsters, I usually have a sort of out-of-body, fire walking experience as the last few →
Chhom Nimol & Dengue Fever

I was in LA last weekend visiting my friend Leon and got to take in some really good music including Jon Brion at the new Largo. Scott Weiland @ La Zona Rosa Austin
On 16 Jan I shot an assignment for Rolling Stone covering Scott Weiland and the first date on his current tour. Rarely without controversy I found him to be a pretty nice guy, albeit a little tardy to his own show. Also got to meet Doug Grean whose music projects include The Crystal Method of which I am a fan... →
Theremin for the Masses
Aileen Alder is virtuoso in a sea of Theremin hacks (of which I am one), her style of playing comes from the Clara Rockmore school, ie smooth and precise. She recently finished a CD of collaborations with a number of austin musicians which you can buy from her website at thereminforthemasses.com . To learn →

mike watt + the missingmen
I’m visting California this week, and I was fortunate enough to see Mike Watt last night in Hermosa Beach. This show was great: $5 cover, small crowd …some of which I recognized form the Minutemen documentary and tons of great Minutemen and early 80’s covers. I’ve seen Watt in his many incarnations, but this show with the missingmen took →
my photos of Mick Jagger!
..kind of.. Yesterday I took promo shots for stones cover band the Rolling Ravers in Austin... It's certainly all about the Mick shot though. I recently read an article in the NY Times about how tribute bands are getting popular cause no one wants to shell out big bucks to see some fossil rock band, I tend to agree. The →
